A Rich Fantasy Life

Sometimes while working on the budget I wish I was rich.  Today I will indulge that fantasy.

I would dress in beautiful clothes and go power shopping with my chauffeur.

Meet my elegant friends for lunch.

Then head home to my elegant chateau...

which is spotlessly clean of course.

and enjoy an afternoon riding through the pastoral bridal trails on my estate.

Return for a nap before dinner.

Sit down for a wonderful meal with my family prepared by our personal chef and staff.

Relax after dinner with a nightcap.

Then retire to my beautiful boudoir for a peaceful nights sleep.

There are actually people who get to live like this.  Not me unfortunately, so its back to reality, budget restraints, work, cleaning and deciding what to make for dinner - again.  SIGH.

Boxing Day Madness

I'm off to see what I can find as part of my Boxing Day Madness... then I'm putting up my feet and allowing myself some peace and quiet for the rest of the day and night.  Maybe even a nap...

Shop Till You Drop

I'm spending half my time sitting in bumper to bumper traffic or looking for a parking space...

Packing for Warmer Weather

There is a reason why Canadians are referred to as snowbirds.  When the snow fly's we head for warmer climates.  However, traditional snowbird time is from January to March and most resorts are booked solid.  So I'm taking an early vacation this year.  Oh I know I'll regret it when the snow is flying and who knows maybe I'll go then too if I can find a great last minute deal, but right now I need a vacation.  As such I'm finding myself going through my warmer clothes and realizing that some shopping might be in order.
A stylish hat for shade and pretty white dress.

White trench, stylish shades, white slacks and some nice luggage.

Comfy gold loafers for walking.

What the heck - silver as well to go with my silver jewellery

Stylish gold sandals for the beach and dressing up.

All images Ralph Lauren.

Michael Kors - I Like These

I'm fast becoming an even bigger fan of Michael Kors lately.  Although I wasn't keen on the Spring Collection (I'm not big on camouflage), I'm finding myself doing some virtual shopping lately on his site.  (Don't worry Ralph, I'm still a big fan of your stuff as well).

Tan leather Otley flat with gold toe cap and trim. These look so comfy.
I love this so much I'll take it in grey and silver as well.

Loving this colour.  Nickel tote

Profile: La Prairie

I've heard a great deal about La Prairie over the years and since I'm running low on the face care products that I'm using (and they're not working for me), I figured it was time to try something new.  So I checked out their site.

They have a feature which allows you to have a personal skincare consultation online.  So I gave it a try.  Here's what they suggested for me.

For Face Care - Cellular Cream Platinum Rare, 30ml - $650.00 US

For Eye Care - Cellular Eye Cream Platinum Rare - $350.00 US

OR

White Caviar Illuminating Eye Serum - $450.00 US
A serum, Cellular Serum Platinum Rare - $650.00 US

Foundation, Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation, SPF 15 - $180.00 US

OR

Cellular Treatment Foundation, Powder Finish - $80.00 US

OR

Anti-Aging Foundation, SPF 15 - $100.00 US

So if you've been keeping track, it would be a little over $1000.00 US for me to purchase this line.  As much as my complexion and skin are important to me, I can't justify that expense along with the shipping since it's not available here.  In other words... this is too rich for me.  I guess if you need to ask the price you can't afford it is true in this case.

So I'm off to do some much needed shopping and running of errands.

Next time I'm in New York

I’m going to visit this store naturally…
Ralph Lauren - 888 Madison Avenue, New York, New York

I love this style of classic architecture, not everything has to be modern.  I can't wait to visit.

An interesting article in Architectural Digest that showcases the store and his reasons for building it .

Fall Shopping Already

Summer is almost over already.  I'm never ready when it happens, but my favourite shopping sites are already updating with fall images and the days are getting shorter.  I'm starting to find myself looking at my fall wardrobe and thinking it's time for some updates.  I've haven't found my perfect white summer suit yet.
