Ralph nailed it again

I love this look for Fall.  It's currently the colour scheme in my home so I was naturally drawn to it anyway.  With freezing cold temperatures outside being warm and cozy snuggled up in knits and with our fur throws (fake - no nasty e-mails please) and I'm ready for this look.

Check out more here.

I've been really busy lately, clearing out the spare room, doing a year's worth of filing (I'm ready for tax season), sorted through tons of clothes and purged out a lot of stuff.  This is one of "pockets of resistance" rooms where when we don't know what to do with something it ends up there.  There are a few in my house and this year I've promised myself to really tackle these and get more organized.  So still pretty much offline, but had to post these images when I saw the new collection.  Just love his stuff.

Thanksgiving 2014

I love fall.  It's not so muggy hot and of course the changing colours of the leaves are a free art show in themselves.  Every year for many years when we were kids, we went away this weekend to look at the leaves.  As a result we've been all over the Eastern United States and Canada as well.  It was one of those family bonding moments.  I wanted to continue this tradition with my son now that my parents are gone.  However, I didn't take into account that my son might not feel the same way.  He's a big fan of Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings - not to mention Sunday afternoon football.  In other words despite the fact that there is only two of us.  I find myself out buying a turkey and everything else.  My wanderlust at this time of year appears to have skipped him.  He'd rather snuggle up at home on this long weekend and apparently wasn't keen on the prospect of sitting in a car for long hours with his mother looking at leaves.  So once more I'm searching for Thanksgiving recipes and wondering what I'll do with all the left overs.  The fridge and freezers are stocked and the dog is following me around drooling and looking forward to my hours in the kitchen.  The leaves will have to do without me this year.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Frost is in the Air

For the first time this year I had to turn on the furnace last night.  Frost warnings are out and it`s beginning to feel like fall has hit full swing these past few days.  I`m getting that nesting feeling again.

When is Summer Over

Everyone has different events that tell them one season is over and the next one has begun.  For some it will be the changing of the leaves, others cooler temperatures, back to school, fall clothes appearing in the store.  For me... it is when everyone I work with begin the yearly debate about when to close up the cottage or try for just one more weekend.  That is when I know I must pack up the summer clothes and face it that fall is here and winter is just around the corner.

Time to Suit Up

My father has lost a considerable amount of weight with his illness.  I however, appear to have picked up every pound he lost and then some.  Since I work in a conservative field, suits are a staple of my wardrobe and I need some new ones fast.  I still love this old Ann Taylor ad.  It reflects how dress for work.  This image is approximately 10 years old and it still looks current.  See .... classics - you can't go wrong.

Getting Ready for Back to Fall

It is that time of year again.  When I start looking at the fall clothes in my wardrobe and start assessing.  Shop for back to school clothes for my son and grumble about the cost of all this back to school stuff.  ($700.00 later for one son - big feet the size of pontoons mean Nike makes a killing off of me every back to school year  - the rest school uniforms, school supplies and we haven`t even started looking at the new computer he seems to feel that he needs this year - apparently when you`re a senior you need a better computer - yeah right.)  That doesn` t leave much for my fall clothes so I live vicariously throught these images for yet another year.  I have only 3words for my son - GET A JOB.

Speaking of Ralph - Fall 2012

The Fall 2012 collection was given its debut on yesterday.  I would be remiss if I didn't showcase some of my favourites.

The beginning of the show focused on men's wear styles for woman.  Complete with the latest Downtown Abbey craze.  This didn't seem to be a big hit according to the reviews; however the second portion of the show focused on black and gold evening attire with hits of bright or deep colours and art deco details.  The following are my favourites.  Enjoy.

One of my Favourites

Looking at the Modern Racer Home Collection images for some reason reminds me of one of my favourite Ralph Collections – Fall 2005...
All images Zimbio – enjoy.

I So Want This Sweater

I love this sweater that Doutzen Krose is wearing in Tiffany's Fall Ads.  The rings are nice too.

Ralph Lauren Fall 2011 Collection

Ralph Lauren's new Spring 2012 show is tomorrow night and needless to say I'm really looking forward to it.  However, I'd be remiss if I didn't include photos from Ralph Lauren's Fall 2011 Collection.

These are my favourites

It reminds me of something the character Willie Scott played by Kate Capshaw in the Indiana Jones movie "Temple of Doom" would wear.  My least favourite of the series.  Sorry Kate but I found her character annoying and I really hate bugs.  For whatever reason, this wasn't one of my favourites but there are some beautiful things in the collection.
