I love this new campaign by J. Crew. It stars the youngest members of the Mariinski Russian Ballet company and their new fine cashmere collection. Ballerinas always look like delicate fawns to me making me wish that I was this limber again.

A Case Study in Los Angeles
I'm not really a modernist person, but this house is so unique and been photographed for so many shoots that I couldn't resist profiling it. Most recently 1635 Woods Drive in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles was used for the J Crew Hollywood catalogue shoot. It was also used for my favourite January Jones shoot and many other celebrity shoots including Grace Kelly.

It's a Case Study house - #22 to be exact. Apparently in 1945 at the end of World War II, John Entenza, editor of Art and Architecture Magazine, commissioned several legendary architects to build affordable homes in California using mostly wood, steel, and glass. The houses were intended to be model homes which the typical American family could easily duplicate using affordable materials.

Inspiration - For My Dining Room
Ok so it's not my dining room, but it's really close to it. I even painted my walls this colour. However, I'm short a few key items to make this my dining room. Such as the furniture and chandelier, french doors, area rug. Still their all on my wish list.
Thanks
This room was designed by Wendy Williams Watt for her boyfriend former hockey player Kirk McLean in Vancouver. The entire house was beautiful, but I only seem to have this picture left since I've been holding onto it forever as inspiration. I actually loved the entire house and the views were magnificent, but I can't find the images. If anyone has them I'd love to do a followup post for this house.

What Time is It? #6
I've fallen in love with the Portofino collection from IWC Schaffhauser or maybe it's just the atmosphere of Portofino, but it's definately on my travel list now.

Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days
Photographer Peter Lindbergh brought together some of todays A-list celebrities for a photoshoot in the picturesque Italian harbour town of Portofino. They included Boris Becker, Cate Blanchett, Eric Dane, Marc Forster, Matthew Fox, Tim Jefferies, Ronan Keating, Elle Macpherson, Jean Reno, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kevin Spacey, and Zinédine Zidane. Here are some of my favourite shots from the photoshoot.

Sorry couldn't find any reference for the female model in the car with Eric Dane anywhere.
Tim Jeffries - Art Gallery Owner, Multi-millionaire, Heir to a fortune, Former International playboy
I can't figure out how he made it into the group. Maybe he's a partial owner or investor.
Eric Dane and Elle Macoherson - Australian Model
Kevin Spacey - Academy Award Winning Actor with Cate Blanchett
What time is it? #5 with Classic Accessories for Gwyneth
I watched "A Perfect Murder" the other night and admired the classic, elegant style of Gwyneth Paltrow's character in the movie. Classic tailored shirts, cashmere, suede, shearling and great accessories.
Directed by Andrew Davis and starring Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow and Viggo Mortensen. It is supposedly a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 film, Dial M for Murder, though the characters' names are all changed, the characters of Halliday and Swann are combined. Loosely based on the play by Frederick Knott, the screenplay was written by Patrick Smith Kelly.
Excerpted from Wikipedia
Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Douglas
This movie has enormous style both in decor and in costumes. I love the style of Gwyneth’s character and love the international decor of their New York penthouse apartment. The entire set was a sound stage with panoramic images all around that they altered for different times of the day. All of the marble in the apartment is photocopied images of real marble that they used to make it look real. It certainly fooled me. The art work are reproductions designed to look like the real thing. (There must be some really good forgers in Hollywood). It's really well done. It's an interesting twist to the Alfred Hitchcock Dial M for Murder movie, with a more updated and current feel. I'd love a walk through her wardrobe for this film. The costume designer for this film is Colleen Atwood who also designed the clothes for Angelina Jolie in the tourist. She can redo my wardrobe anytime.

Profile - Ralph's
When I'm in Paris I intend to eat here naturally…

The food is apparently quite good in typical American style with a touch of parisian. Apparently the people who frequent this location dress quite chic so dress accordingly. You will need reservations because it's currently a very hip spot in Paris.

Designer Profile - Scot Meacham Wood
Also known as TartanScot...
Scott has a style I like. Based in San Francisco, I find that his rooms have a coziness about them where I would feel at home.
“Runner, musician, Anglophile, textile junkie, and science-fiction nerd, Scot Meacham Wood takes great delight in seeing his clients’ homes and lives transformed over the course of each project. “People always seem to invite me into their lives right at a particular point of personal evolution,” says the San Francisco-based interior designer, who opened his eponymous firm in 2001 after a 15-year stint at Ralph Lauren.”
I love this room – I believe it’s in his own home - I’m planning on using this as the inspiration photo for my bedroom. It actually woudn’t take much since the room is already painted that same dark chocolate brown.
Check out his site for some truly wonderful inspiration. Or check out his blog and follow along on his adventures.
