Forgive me for my mess

Lack of space on my computer and a major busy time in my life have left me little time for blogging or preparing any content.  So just enjoy the visual journey and hopefully I'll have something worthy to say or at least observe when this crunch time finally lets up.

Slim Paley Summer Home Continued...

As promised here is the beautiful summer home of blogger Slim Paley as shown in House Beautiful.   

This was published a while ago, so it's probably been around the block a few times but hey when it's beautiful and classic, why not.

How can you not love a woman who slipcovers her car seats in florals.  Seriously, when you have dogs and little kids this is a life saver idea.  Not to mention it helps with messy teenagers too.

However, I would be remiss if I didn't include some great photos taken by "Slim" herself and posted on her blog. Looks like she's done a bit of rejigging since the photo shoot above.

Love the glass "navigational" chart over the fireplace - she's not sure what it is and neither am I but I love it all the same.

Profile - Slim Paley

Slim Paley and I have a great deal in common.  We were both born in Canada* and coincidentally we both started a blog at .... (ok for both our sakes I'll leave that one up to you to find out), we both have sons and we're both finding ourselves through blogging.  Sadly that's about all, but I'm aspiring to reach her level.  Slim Paley isn't her real name (again I'll leave that to you to find out), but she chose this handle as a homage to the style of Slim Keith and Babe Paley, two of New York's top socialites of their time who were known for their impeccable taste in everything. Can you think of anyone better?

She currently lives in Santa Barbara, California, but also has homes in Sun Valley, Idaho and a lovely beach house at Carpinteria, California just outside Santa Barbara.  All of her homes are beautifully decorated and for those living in a northern climate, check out the beautiful floral arrangements from her garden.  It puts my little flower pots to shame.  Meeting stylish people that are inspirational is one of the things I like most about blogging.  Check out her blog.  With her wit and sense of humour you'll mark it as one of your favourites I'm sure.

*Footnote:  Ooops, turns out she was actually born in Ireland, but she is a Canadian citizen so there is that.  So much for my researching skills.
