The Travel Bug has hit again...

This year is not about travel - it's about a new car that we desperately need so travel at least for now is off the list.  But I'm already craving a trip again.  So vicariously I will take a virtual trip

Shopping at Chanel - 31, Rue Cambon, Paris

Pick up one of these. - Image Hollie Hobin (Happy 21st birthday Hollie)

Serious shopping along the Place Vendôme

And since I would like to be close by to all the action I would stay at the Mandarin Oriental.

My room with a view.

Or here - I'm not picky.

Or maybe this room.

I would enjoy dinner on the lovely top floor patio

and look out over the roof tops of Paris.

Coco Chanel's Paris Apartment

Coco Chanel's apartment in Paris at 31 Rue Cambon has been left as a sort of museum piece to her.  It's amazing the beautiful things she collected in her life time.  It's well maintained and curated, overall the image is stunning and that is how she lived.  Quite the life.

A close up of the famous intertwined C's and number 5's chandelier in her living room.
Chanel really had a thing for coromandel screens but I would too if I could afford the quality of these screens.

The apartment is frequently used for photoshoots and commercials.  Here are a couple of my favourites

This little bird cage sits in her apartment.  It's been featured in a number of ways.

It was the inspiration for the Coco advert featuring Vanessa Paradis as the caged bird.
