Breakfast anyone?

I'm finding myself really into berries at the moment.  Sadly so is my son and a container of raspberries can disappear in seconds around here.  We're battling it out to see who can get to the container first. Trust me when I say that I actually purchase two containers - one for here and one for when my son unloads the groceries from the car.  They never seem to even get in the door.

 

I was spoiled and grew up with wild berries in the bushes all around us.  Snacks were always on hand every summer.  I miss those days when I'm standing in the produce section of the groceries stores staring at the prices and calculating how much I can afford in my head.  Our grocery bills have been going through the roof lately.  And when berries are becoming a real luxury item it's not a good sign.

Summer is Coming - at least that's what they tell me

Summer is coming.  Summer is coming.  Summer is coming.  I just keep telling myself that.

Dreaming of summer already

It's back to work for me today and I'm already dreaming about a summer vacation.  Casual comfy summer days seem so far away right now when you're digging out the driveway and scraping off the car.

 

When is Summer Over

Everyone has different events that tell them one season is over and the next one has begun.  For some it will be the changing of the leaves, others cooler temperatures, back to school, fall clothes appearing in the store.  For me... it is when everyone I work with begin the yearly debate about when to close up the cottage or try for just one more weekend.  That is when I know I must pack up the summer clothes and face it that fall is here and winter is just around the corner.

I am this winter was particularly rough for me and I'm so looking forward to some relaxing activities and vacations.  For inspiration I love this soft summery wind blown look with the scarf tying hair back from the face.

Why Don't They Make Them Like This Anymore

This bathing suit on Grace Kelly looks great and could easily be worn today.  This suit is sexy and would be great for those of us who don’t have a bikini body anymore.  NOTE TO BATHING SUIT DESIGNERS OUT THERE:  Time to revamp some of the oldies and make them look current.

I posted a Williams Sonoma image recently that has been haunting me all week.  I felt like I'd seen something similar to it before.  Found it.  The beautiful summer home of blogger Slim Paley which was showcased in House Beautiful.
