When is Summer Over
Everyone has different events that tell them one season is over and the next one has begun. For some it will be the changing of the leaves, others cooler temperatures, back to school, fall clothes appearing in the store. For me... it is when everyone I work with begin the yearly debate about when to close up the cottage or try for just one more weekend. That is when I know I must pack up the summer clothes and face it that fall is here and winter is just around the corner.

Virtual Vacation by the Sea
With my father's illness I'm pretty much stuck at home nowadays. On beautiful sunny days I crave the water, beaches, sailing... that's how I grew up and in the summer being confined to the city makes me feel hemmed in.
However, this is too important and there will be other years, so I'm going to go there virtually via the internet.

Craving a Cottage
I grew on the a beach (year round) so owning a cottage didn't hold much appeal to me. Why would you want to care for two homes? Well now that I don't live on a beach and haven't for quite some time I'm finding myself missing it a great deal. From time to time I sometimes wonder if purchasing a small cottage might be worth the long commute. This little cute little cottage owned by designer Trudy Dujardin in Nantucket has inspired me to look at that idea again.
