Profile - Irene Suchocki

Such beautiful shots.  I would love to take such amazing images.  Capturing such raw power is a talent I seem to lack.

Check out her portfolio online.  It's amazing.

My favourite...

In Canada, due to Canadian content laws, we rarely get to see the much hyped Super Bowl commercials.  However, there are one or two that buy into the Canadian market as well and one of them is Budweiser.  My all time favourite commercials are the Budweiser Clydesdales.  I never tire of these commercials and could watch them over and over again.  This is one area that advertising gets it right time and again..  This year's ad for example, I mean seriously, puppies and horses, how could you go wrong?

A screen shot from this year's commercial. Check it out.

If you want a preview of some of the best of the commercials featuring the Clydesdales, check out this link

To me this is a Super Bowl tradition I look forward to.  Keep up the good work Budweiser.

Dreaming My Way Through Winter

Don't these images just feel like you're in the dream world?

I love this image.  It's one of my all time favourites.

I'm hungry.

My next vacation will look like this.

What dream would be complete without Paris.  Throw in some fireworks - why not.

The majesty of Horses

There is something about horses - they've always seemed like such noble animals to me.  They can be fierce but for the most part they're always happy to see you, love to run and will do almost anything you ask of them.  They remind me of my dog sometimes.

That said I should add that I've been thrown by every horse I've ever ridden at some point.  Still I get back on and keep riding.  Well not lately but in my heart I am.

It's Been Awhile...

It's been awhile since my last post.  In the past two years there have been a lot of changes that have been overwhelming.   I've found it hard to get back into blogging since it can take up a lot of time and spare time wasn't something I had a lot of.  Settling an estate and dealing with grief while trying to keep your life together can take a lot out of person.  But it's time to move on.

Once more I'm looking for inspiration that reflects my style, taste, and a sense of who I am.  That sense of serenity that just seems to allude us and allows us a chance to find some peace and tranquility is more important to me than ever.  So for the next little while I'm just going to post some images that speak to me.

Sorry for not producing links since I really have no idea where most of these have been obtained.  If anyone can set me straight I will be happy to set up links. Until then enjoy as I find my way back into the fold.  Thank you for your patience.

Sometimes I Need to Connect to My Past

Life has a way of getting in the way of the things we love.  I miss riding some days.  I can go along and forget all about it and then every once in a while I'll see an image and it all comes back.  Horses are such a huge expense and then of course there's all the work and you'd need a place big enough so this will not be a part of my life now.  Sigh.

Besides, it turns out I'm the only one in the family who loves horses, the rest can take them or leave them.  Nice but not really interested.  Cars are more their thing.  Sometimes I wish I had a daughter that could relate to my girlish side.

Wardrobe Updates - Riding Boots

This dates back to my riding days, but Riding Boots are a comfortable heel size for both dressy as well as slugging through snow covered sidewalks.  Yes I'm finally accepting the fact that winter is coming and could hit any day now based upon this weekend.

Once more I've learned something new.  The traditional riding boot was copied from the Duke of Wellington who naturally became very popular after the defeat of Napoleon.  People began copying his style and eventually this included woman.  I'm definitely loving this new feature of Ralph Lauren's.  It fits in with my useless trivia side.  I can now pass this on to you.

I should add for the record that I never looked this stylish during my riding days.

A Childhood Dream - Horses

Yes I was one of those girls who loved horses.  I wanted one so badly and really worked on my parents to get me one.  No such luck, but I did take riding lessons as an adult simply because I loved it.  I want to get back into it, but it's just so expensive and so much upkeep.  Ah well.  Maybe someday.  In the meantime I'm thinking I'd like to read this book by Kelly Klein.  Unfortunately, the price tag prevents me from purchasing it along with the fact there aren't any copies around here for sale.  Too bad.

I love the black and white touches from her home.
