OK - Just one more .... Point Dume Collection by Ralph Lauren

I know - I'm supposed to be getting my act together around here, and I will, but I've been waiting for Ralph's latest home line to be showcased so I would once again be remise if I didn't post it here before getting down to business.  Ralph so knows what I like.  My ideal getaway spot.

Ok so the horse was just to show off the rugs, but still - beach, horses.... works for me.

If I had to pick just one spot - this would be it.  My new happy place.

Additional inspiration

After a week of fighting this god awful flu I'm off to see someone about the constant cough which nothing over the counter works on.  I've haven't slept properly in days and I'm getting cranky. So I'm packing up my Sucrets and heading out into the bitter frigid weather to find something - anything that works.  I've been cooped up for a week now and I'm ready to go stir crazy.  I know, I know, you're wondering why I didn't just get a flu shot - well for me it never works.  As soon as I get the shot, I'm seriously sick a week later.  So I'm doomed one way or the other.  See - I'm starting to really feel sorry for myself.  With nothing to do but work from home when I can and troll through the internet, I decided I needed some additional inspiration.
a class Hermes Kelly Bag - in my favourite colour.

Tiffany sunglasses

So elegant

Something delicate and sparkly would be nice

for a sparkling evening in Paris.

I actually don't own a brown crocodile leather bag and I've been looking for one for ages.  This would do nicely.

A soft cozy cashmere throw for these cold days and nights.

So majestic - those soulful eyes.

A shopping spree at Ralph Lauren wouldn't hurt either.

And for my son...

His future dream apartment that he keeps saying he's going to have one day.

I'm sooooooooo bored....... - turns out I'm not a very good patient.

The Perfect Birthday Gift - for a Horse

Seriously I love this - a birthday party for a horse.  Why not they're part of a family too.

Sometimes I Need to Connect to My Past

Life has a way of getting in the way of the things we love.  I miss riding some days.  I can go along and forget all about it and then every once in a while I'll see an image and it all comes back.  Horses are such a huge expense and then of course there's all the work and you'd need a place big enough so this will not be a part of my life now.  Sigh.

Besides, it turns out I'm the only one in the family who loves horses, the rest can take them or leave them.  Nice but not really interested.  Cars are more their thing.  Sometimes I wish I had a daughter that could relate to my girlish side.

Wardrobe Updates - Riding Boots

This dates back to my riding days, but Riding Boots are a comfortable heel size for both dressy as well as slugging through snow covered sidewalks.  Yes I'm finally accepting the fact that winter is coming and could hit any day now based upon this weekend.

Once more I've learned something new.  The traditional riding boot was copied from the Duke of Wellington who naturally became very popular after the defeat of Napoleon.  People began copying his style and eventually this included woman.  I'm definitely loving this new feature of Ralph Lauren's.  It fits in with my useless trivia side.  I can now pass this on to you.

I should add for the record that I never looked this stylish during my riding days.

A Childhood Dream - Horses

Yes I was one of those girls who loved horses.  I wanted one so badly and really worked on my parents to get me one.  No such luck, but I did take riding lessons as an adult simply because I loved it.  I want to get back into it, but it's just so expensive and so much upkeep.  Ah well.  Maybe someday.  In the meantime I'm thinking I'd like to read this book by Kelly Klein.  Unfortunately, the price tag prevents me from purchasing it along with the fact there aren't any copies around here for sale.  Too bad.

I love the black and white touches from her home.
