A Spa Vacation ....
I am in the process of planning a vacation to the south west next year to scatter my dads ashes where he was the happiest. My sister feels combining this with a trip to a spa would be beneficial for both of us. Who am I to disagree with such common sense. Here is my choice. At $1000.00 US a day I have a feeling this was not what she had in mind. Still.....

Olivia Pope Thursday
Ok - I have to confess I am hooked on this show. Not just for the constant plot twists and the great scripts and acting, but for the fashion. Hats off to Lyn Paolo the fashion designer for the show. She wanted to bring the fashion up a notch this year and she has definitely succeeded. She could shop for me any day of the week.
However, just a word of caution. This is high end stuff and not something my budget could ever afford. Or anyone else I know for that matter.... but still a girl can dream....
Some of my favourites looks so far this year.

It's Been Awhile...
It's been awhile since my last post. In the past two years there have been a lot of changes that have been overwhelming. I've found it hard to get back into blogging since it can take up a lot of time and spare time wasn't something I had a lot of. Settling an estate and dealing with grief while trying to keep your life together can take a lot out of person. But it's time to move on.
Once more I'm looking for inspiration that reflects my style, taste, and a sense of who I am. That sense of serenity that just seems to allude us and allows us a chance to find some peace and tranquility is more important to me than ever. So for the next little while I'm just going to post some images that speak to me.
Sorry for not producing links since I really have no idea where most of these have been obtained. If anyone can set me straight I will be happy to set up links. Until then enjoy as I find my way back into the fold. Thank you for your patience.

Goodbye Dad
The southwest was one of my dad's favorite spots on the planet.
My dad passed away in his sleep tonight. His battle with the cruel disease called Lou Gehrig's Disease finally ended and in his case I know he's in a better place. He's finally free from the cruelty that this disease puts its victims (and they're loved ones) through.
I hope you're at peace dad. We'll always love you and I'll personally miss you terribly. You were always there for me and I hope that I was there for you when you needed me the most as well. God bless you.
I love you Dad.

Signing Off for the Season
We've had a rough year. My dad's health has deteriorated yet again. As such we've been walking a tightrope trying to find a balance this season. It hasn't been easy and his health has reached the point where we need round the clock care and it takes up a lot of my time as the main caregiver. So, sadly this blog has suffered and I will no longer be able to continue until we've seen this thing through.
My best wishes to all those I've been in touch with this and anyone else reading this blog. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and will continue to have a wonderful New Year. Hopefully 2013 will be a time a great joy and help to heal a lot of the wounds that we've all had to deal with this year.
