Campari Americano for Those Who Are Interested

In the movie "The Tourist" the waiter asks Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp if they would like another drink.  Because of his Italian accent, I couldn't make out what he was offering them.  However after much searching it turns out it's a Campari Americano.  You're welcome.
The Americano is a drink invented to offset the slightly bitter taste of Campari. It was first served in the 1860's at Garspare Campari's bar in Milan, Italy and called the Milano-Torino because of the origins of its ingredients, but was later renamed because of its popularity amongst American tourists during Prohibition.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • club soda
  • lemon twist or orange slice for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes.
  2. Build with the Campari and vermouth.
  3. Top off with club soda.
  4. Garnish with the lemon twist or orange slice.
Enjoy.

My Grand European Tour Must Include Venice

The best movie I’ve seen to showcase the beauty of Venice is “The Tourist”.  The Director said that his goal for this movie was to showcase Angelina’s beauty and the beauty of Venice, as well as showcase Johnny Depps gentle character.   On that count he succeeded on all measures.  The film is a fun romp with a few twists and as far as I’m concerned what more could you want.

But of course if I go I need the wardrobe of Angelina Jolie from the movie or it just won't be the same.  The designer Colleen Atwood is an academy award winning fashion designer and I love the outfits she came out with for Elise Ward.

Colleen's favourite outfit from the movie
Shimmering white satin

A beautifully tailored black suit with elegant jewellery

A sweater chosen for the colour.

The stunning necklace from the finale

Robert Procop fitting Angelina Jolie with the antique tiara that they used as a necklace for the movie.  Tiara's are becoming very multi-functional now-a-days.
