Trying to Get Motivated

My mom went out of her way to make Christmas special for her kids and grandchildren.  Without her this year we all feel her absence.  I'm trying to get motivated to decorate the house from top to bottom like she did but I'm finding it hard to get going on it.  I'm doing a little bit every night rather than all at once so Christmas images will be appearing here in my desperate attempt to get into the Christmas spirit.

Are you ready for Christmas?  I'm so not getting into it this year and I'm posting Christmas images to force myself to get motivated.  Hopefully I'll find the time to get into it soon but when the weather gets dark so early around here all I want to do is go home and snuggle up in bed or in front of the fire.

Yesterday would have been perfect for this but I was too busy working on other things.  So I'm going to try and decorate the exterior for Christmas this weekend in between the rain drops.  Wish me luck.

Thanksgiving Prep

So this year it's been decided that I will host the traditional family Thanksgiving Dinner instead of my sister.  Her place is so much bigger than mine and more comfortable, so it's always been there.  This plan might change, but if it doesn't I better get cracking and see what needs to be done.  I've begun quizzing everyone I know and doing my online research.  Thanks to the Pottery Barn people for their step-by-step guidelines.

I can’t find these on the Pottery Barn site anymore and was hoping to frame my peonie pictures in these.  Apparently they’re out of stock.  They were just the right size for photos and I would have like to stock up on some.  Anyone know if there are more of these out there somewhere?  Let me know.
