2014 Princess Margaret Showhome

I'm usually way behind in discovering the latest show home but I didn't see any other images on line.  House and Home and Brian Gluckenstein have outdone themselves again.

Who wouldn't like a welcoming fireplace in your entry way.  Not too sure about the glass doors but then I like my privacy.  Of course if I had a place like this to show off I might be more inclined.

I kill for that stove.

I fell in love with this little room.

Brian loves fireplaces in bathrooms.

A walk-in closet that would be just my size.

Love this little office space.

I do laundry all day if I had this space.

My sister would go crazy if she had one of these.

Hmmmm.  Doesn't bode well when you've got first aid supplies handy.  I could see more potential for this room.

Princess Margaret Showhouse by Brian Gluckenstein

OK - I'm probably the last person to blog about this house, but I've only just found my images - amazing what you find when you're weeding through things.  Including my very, very large selection of images.  At any rate, I love this home and the colour palette.  These are my colours lately for everything from clothes to décor.  I just find it soothing - and in this very sophisticated.  See for yourself.

This house design was used once before by the Princess Margaret foundation but with a completely different look inside.

Located in Oakville, Ontario (like all the homes so far).

I love this picture gallery hallway.

Love the pictures on the shelves to the left.

The hallway and dining area.  Those dining chairs.... I would love those.

Love the big window and the dark grey painted interior of the cupboards.

The Library is a double height library - an idea he must have gotten from his own home.

Such an elegant home.

House & Home for a tour with Brian himself.

Brian Gluckenstein is like the Canadian version of Ralph Lauren.  Well without the fashion part.  Still he's all life style home décor and boy do I have a thing for his products and home designs.  I haven't seen one I didn't like yet.  There are so many rooms I didn't showcase so check out the link above for more images.

2011 Princess Margaret Show House - Part Deux

While this house is lovely, the exterior and basement are my favourites so these are the areas I'm going to showcase.  If you want to see more images click here.

An elegant almost French chateau style home.

I love all the French doors out the back.

The comfy basement room.

Wine Tasting Room.

Laundry Room

Who wouldn't want this?  A portion of the laundry room includes room for crafts, gift wrapping and sewing (not shown).  There's even a TV.

New Princess Margaret Showhome

It's that time again.  The wonderful people at Canadian House & Home have created a great showhome for the Princess Margaret Foundation again this year.  I posted on the one from last year based upon the Something's Got to Give movie which has turned out to be their most popular yet.  Their trying to top that this year which won't be easy.  The showhome opens for viewing September 10, 2011, weekdays, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends & holidays, noon to 5 p.m.

If you like to take a peek preview of the house, check out the House & Home online videos.

Located at 1259 Braeside Drive, Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Inspiration

Sitting out on the front porch watching the neighbours go by…
This is the inspiration photo for my front porch.  We have a bit of a wind tunnel effect here and things tend to fly off during storms so it’s always a bit of a race to get things into the house before a storm hits.  I'd need something heavy enough, but I like this peaceful look.
Actually this front porch is from the 2010 Princess Margaret Hospital Showhome located in Oakville, Ontario.  This is a wonderful lottery that benefits the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Canada’s leading cancer research hospital.
The 2010 showhome drew inspiration from the Something’s Gotta Give movie house of Diane Keaton’s character.
Architectural design, Gordon Ridgely Architects
Construction, PCMnow.com

An American romantic comedy film written, produced and directed by Nancy Meyers.  It stars Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton as a successful 60-something and 50-something, who find love for each other at a different time of life, despite being complete opposites.
