Reminds me of ... The Devil Wears Prada
This kitchen reminds me of the kitchen from The Devil Wears Prada. .A fashion film if ever there was one. I've seen interior shots of this house and must admit as beautiful as parts of it are. It's just too bright blue for my taste.
2006, The Devil Wears Prada
A naive young woman comes to New York and scores a job as the assistant to one of the city's biggest magazine editors, the ruthless and cynical Miranda Priestly.
This isn't the actual town house - it just reminds me of it.

Meryl Streep as Amanda Priestley in The Devil Wears Prada
The actual townhouse used wasn't even the original one booked for the film. A last minute substitution followed and I must admit the house is incredible. Located at 129 East 73rd Street and Lexington Avenue, Manhattan the townhouse has an interesting history being in 1906 for the newly wed Charles Guggenheim and his wife Minnie.

Maybe it's just the mood I'm in lately but I'm finding myself partitial to shades of grey in decorating and fashion.

Travelling Vicariously - Venice
Boy do I need a vacation. Since it's impossible at the moment, I'm travelling vicariously and as such I can go anywhere in the world I want. So Venice anyone?

Ode to Flats
As you get older and begin to care more about what's comfortable and less about what's the latest style, you start to look for items that suit you and still reflect who you are but also enhance the comfort level. Trust I know what it's like to suffer for a sense of style. I'm caring less and less about being a fashion plate and more about making it through the day without limping. So stylish flats are starting to take over my closet and becoming a necessity. Something like these are right up my alley.

Bathroom Upgrades
We've been considering this for a long time. Update the bathroom. It hasn't been touched since we've moved in so I'm on the look out for inspiration. I love this idea and have considered using this idea when the time comes. A sort of virtual designer. Look at the results.

What a Mess
Thanksgiving dinner this year has proved one very important lesson - I need more room in my kitchen. What a mess. As we did our best to prepare dinner we kept running into one another. Throw in a big golden retriever with serious designs on any scraps that came her way and you've got a receipe for a real mess.
This is what I would like for my kitchen.

Frost is in the Air
For the first time this year I had to turn on the furnace last night. Frost warnings are out and it`s beginning to feel like fall has hit full swing these past few days. I`m getting that nesting feeling again.
